From the time immemorial Shipping Sector has been playing a key role in the economic growth of a maritime nation like Bangladesh. Keeping it in a view Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) has developed a complete set of maritime units like Meghna Shipbuilders & Dockyard Ltd., Mercantile Shipping Lines Ltd., G. Shipping Lines Ltd., United Shipping Lines Ltd. MGI has considerable fleet strength of river going vessels for shipment of its own raw materials and the finished products. These maritime units are manned by highly trained & experienced personnel drawn from various segment of professionals. MSDL is preparing to build 15000 tons capacity ocean going vessels in near future, increasing its investment upto US $75 million in coming years

Newly Built Oil Tankers: MSDL has recently built 12 oil tankers of 2000 DWT. Presently they are under charter of Padma, Meghna and Jamuna oil companies
Bulkheads: MGI has also recently commissioned 6 bulkheads to carry cement to different destinations through river routes
Ocean Going Vessels: In order to maintain safety stock of raw materials for own factories MGI has fleet of Ocean going vessels Like, Meghna Princess & Meghna Pride
Fleet Strength: Under Mercantile shipping lines MGI has 24 lighter vessels to transport raw material from mother vessel at Chittagong
